Negril Hotels & ResortsLocated on the far western tip of Jamaica and an hour away from Montego Bay, Negril is a carefree resort town where anything goes. Known as the “Capital of Casual,” this former fishing town was a favorite destination of American hippies in the 1970s and continues to draw travelers to its shores with its laidback ambiance and internationally acclaimed beaches. You’ll find rugged cliffs, miles of silky white-sand beaches, and clear blue waters here. While the cliffs and calm waters promise excellent opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling, other popular activities include horseback riding and mountain biking. Don’t forget to take in one of Negril’s spectacular sunsets, as the sun slowly dips into the sea from the westernmost point of Jamaica. Travelers looking for privacy should head to the West End for secluded hotels that open onto rocky cliffs, while most of the larger resort chains reside on Seven Mile Beach. Many of these hotels offer “au naturel” sunbathing areas.
